Angy Eiter writes Climbing History
Angy Eiter is for sure an exceptional Austrian athlete. With 3 overall Worldcup titles in lead and 4 gold medals at World Championships she already made it into the history books of climbing. On Sunday – 22nd of October – she has written a new chapter when climbing „La Planta de Shiva“. Thus, in the chronicles of sport climbing, Angy Eiter is the first woman ever of being able to complete a project with difficulty level 9b.
One of the most memorable days of my life. Planta de Shiva 9b – check. I still can’t believe it. A dream came true!!
To this day, Margo Heyes holds the benchmark with the first female ascent of a confirmed 9a+ : ”La Rambla”. This incredible achievement has now been beaten once again by the 31-year old Austrian climbing legend Angy Eiter. So far Angy had climbed numerous routes up to 9a before. In the past two years she had worked regularly on the project over the past two years.
