Höhen und Tiefen lagen in der Qualifikation des Boulder Weltcup in Vail dicht beieinander. »The beast is back«, könnte man sagen. Denn Bundesliga Topfavorit Jan Hojer, der zuletzt das Halbfinale verpasste, sicherte sich nun sein Ticket souverän. Im deutschen Team glänzte außerdem Alma Bestvater mit einem neunten Rang. Nach dem Ausschluss von den Deutschen Meisterschaften gibt sie damit ihre Antwort auf sportlicher Ebene. Weniger Glück hatten hingegen Moni Retschy und Johanna Holfeld, die in ihren Gruppen den Halbfinaleinzug knapp verpassten.
